Was the Wii a disappointment?

The wii is nintendos worst console of all time, It only had like a few aaa exclusives. At the end of the day the wii mote was a gimmick that Nintendo tacked on controls too for the sake of doing it. It just ended up being the waggle stick.

Wii was a disappointment games wise.

Very few great games, many droughts with very little to play and Nintendos first party efforts weren't up to scratch in my opinion.

Someone will no doubt post a list that will be composed of what I like to call 'celebrated mediocrity'. Anything that was borderline playable on the wii is considered a hidden gem. The reality is very few were hidden and very few were gems.

Celebrated mediocrity wow great post you win this thread.

What do you mean Nintendological, most people were very disappointed by Red Steel. The second one got a better rap ... or is it wrap. Hm.

I think the Wii was disappointing because it was so underutilized, I think they were all underutilized but at least the others are still being actively worked on

If I support the game company, then I won't be supporting the blank DVD business.

For me, yes it was. It has the absolute worst game lineup Ive ever seen on a console that stuck around for a full gen.

Lol. Half your list is okay, but the bolded half is terribly sad. I must ask: really? A Power Rangers game? That's only okay if you're 12 or under. If that's the case, I withdraw my objection.

I've found Fortune Street to be a delightful title. I received it as a Christmas gift last year, and I've found that I enjoy it quite a bit. It's a game that has really flown under the radar, but definitly a quality title.

That much I can readily agree with. I was very happy with how the game turned out, being a heavy strategic board game fan. It's a little too chaotic and lucky for my tastes as a board gamer, but it works extremely well for introducing people to board games through it. Definitely one of my top 5 purchases.

didn't like Twilight Princess.

So you're problem with the Wii, game-wise, was a single Gamecube port? Uh-huh.

I bought the Wii mainly to play Twilight Princess, yes. I didn't like it. Didn't like the tacked on motion controls. Got bored and just quit playing in some water temple.
Super Mario Galaxy was fine.
As was SSBB, but I'm not much for competitive gaming so only did that singleplayer.
Haven't really touched the Wii since.
I simply have more fun on my PS3, it gives me the gaming experiences I prefer over what Wii offered.

it wasn't the controls, the water temple was too hard for you. that was a tough temple. wii was better I played a halo game once got killed real quick then sold my 360 I'm sure nothing good came out on it after halo

I want to say you're wrong, but after finally selling my own 360 in favor of the PS3's free online and Playstation Plus, I can't say you're wrong. Realistically, there are only a couple hundred Xbox 360 exclusives and only maybe 20 of them are worth a damn. I've played them all and that's all she wrote.

Actually that Naruto game is very good. Despite the anime being ****.

Just goes to show that people run their mouths about things they dont know.

Metroid Zero Mission and Super Metroid are some of the finest 2D games ever made and are the best in the series.
Metroid Fusion is pretty cool I guess.
