WiiU Bombs this week...

To be fair, new consoles always lose out to current platforms when the holiday season rolls around. SNES outsold Playstation and Sega Saturn during their first Christmas. PSOne outsold PS2 and Dreamcast during their first Christmas together (and outsold Dreamcast when it was first released). PS2 outsold Xbox 360 etc.

With that said, what is sad to see is that Nintendo will have absolutely zero momentum once the new consoles arrive. Wii U will get lost in the shuffle between people buying Xbox 360 and PS3 systems after price drops, while the rest of the market will be excited by the newer, shiner superior tech of the Xbox 720 and PS4. With the current consoles being better deals (low prices, vast libraries) and the new platforms offering a true leap forward, the Wii U will essentially become the new Sega Dreamcast; interesting for a while, until the real competition shows up.

It's not doing too well, but it's not "bombing".

lol, PSTrolls...

How am I PStroll, 360 outsold the Wiiu almost 2 to 1.

So was the 360 a failure when the PS2 was outselling it?

rational thoughts are not needed here. Who cares if it took the 360 two years to start outselling the PS2, and this happens every console cycle. This is about bashing Wii U which is the most important thing.

PS2 success vs. XBOX/GameCube DESTROYS this logic. You're severely underestimating the fact that *EDIT* THE ENTIRE ORIGINAL WII LIBRARY RETAIL AND DIGITAL IS PLAYABLE ON WII U. *Ends EDIT* You also have to factor in Nintendo's own software powering future hardware sales.

360 - 757k
PS3 - 711k
WiiU - 395k
Wii - 311k

Even the Wii almost outsold it. To make matters worse, it only sold 60k in EU this week. PS3 sold 300k in EU this week. And don't blame it on product shortages, there's plenty off WiiUs around, just go to your locally Best Buy and you'll find 12. There's simply no interest in the product.

Wii was outsold by about 20%.......that's not almost outselling.......

And this is normal. 360 and PS3 are cheaper and have aggresive bundles and established libraries.

And ignore the trolls that say VGchartz make up their data, their usually very close with their numbers. You can't deny the fact that WiiU is bombing.

Sometimes being off by more than 200k compared to NPD is being close? You're the one thats trolling.

What would be funny is if the PS3/360 kept selling high while their successors bombed.

And you know which version of the 360 is selling the most? The 4GB one. The version they rely on customers having to purchase an exclusively made HDD for at a high price.
Oh, but let's complain and cry about Nintendo releasing 8GB and 32GB versions and allowing us to choose which HDD we want at our own price.
