WiiU Bombs this week...

For a new console in the holiday season, yes that is terrible. Especially since they have a 2D Mario available at launch, one of the best selling franchises in gaming. 3rd party titles like AC3 and Blops2 are selling terribly now Nintendo when they were supposed to be the main selling point.

You guys have to realize the expectations of this console, Nintendo wanted it to sell close to Wii numbers in its first fiscal year yet it has come nowhere near that. It's doing good in Japan, meh in NA, and horrible in EU.

Except it's really not selling badly, maybe not Wii numbers but it's not bombing. Remember you are comparing these sales to thAt of the 360 and PS3 both of which have:

Larger Libraries and discounted Games
More features currently available
Cheaper price tags
Overall more there

When comparing to the Wii U you have a really unrealistic comparison as the Wii U is too new of a console.

It's not my expectations, it's everyone else's. Nintendo fans thought this would be able to keep up with the HD twins, Nintendo though this would sell 5.5m buy the 2nd quarter in 2013. When there are extremely high expectations for a new console and it comes nowhere near those expectations, it's a bomb. Just look at the Vita. Furthermore, this was supposed to attract a whole new crowd of hardcore gamers with titles like AC3, Fifa, and Blops 2, yet the hardcore just stuck with the PS3 or 360. It had a decent launch because of the Nintendo fanbase, by January it will have lost all it's momentum.

It's selling comparable to the Wii in Japan.

It hasn't got a single title announced for the next year that is going to drive sales either.

There is the definite possibility of this machine being *****d whether fanboys want to admit it or not. I'm not saying it definitely is of course, but there's no denying it could happen looking at the current poor state of affairs for the Wii U.

Point these people out then. Also the system already sold a million. Maybe 5 million is stretching it but the system is still selling, anyone trying to low ball the sales by comparing it to the PS3 and 360 is an idiot.

Why are fanboys so desperate to watch any game console that competes again their platform fail. Watch the next Xbox comes out, and it slips one week. Sony Fanboys: OHHHH! XBOX FAILZ. haha Xbots. Or PlayStation Orbis comes out. Nintendo Fanboys: IT'Z PAPER WEIGHT. IT DOEZN'T HAVE MARIO or ZeLDa . Typical fanboy.

Indeed, it boggles the mind why anyone would compare sales of comparable, competing products.

The system has sold over a million units in just a month. Considering Nintendo has been going light with their marketing so far that's a good start. Anybody that says otherwise is delusional.

Except they aren't competing. And even if they were no one was expecting the Wii U to outsell the PS3 or 360 as those console have been out for YEARS and built up a large fanbase while the Wii U has been out for about a month. It's moronic to compare them and say the Wii U is bombing because the 7 year old consoles with MILLIONS of users and THOUSANDS of games are selling more.
