5-9% attach rate for those is GOOD, because those consoles have like what, an 80 MILLION INSTALL BASE? 5% of 80 mil is 4 million, thats great sales for a publisher!

Wii U only has an install base of a meager 1.8 million. So yes, 10% attach rate for 1.8 million is ****ing pitiful. Thats hardly any games sold and developers need to break several million sold usually to even break even or even justify bringing more games to the console at all.

Pay careful attention to this launch and the 3rd party software sales, fanfriends. Because these weak numbers just ensured that damn near all 3rd party devs wont touch this thing with a ten foot pole. Its the Wii all over again, nobodys buying remotely enough of the 3rd party titles, and 3rd party devs and publishers just do not waste time and money supporting a platform where 3rd party games do not sell well at all.

Enjoy your paperweight, enjoy the slow trickle of Nintendo made titles. Its the wii all over again. Very sad.

I'll laugh a lot if something like Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes comes along... but for the WiiU and representing more current MGS.

LMAO I swear some of these trolls are as stupid as they come. You do know that CoD Black Ops 2 only has a 12% attach rate on the PS3 right?

Halo 4 (although not 3rd party) only has a 9% attach rate on the 360
Assassins Creed 3 only has a 5% attach rate on PS3

Honestly, I don't know whether to shake my head at the morons using these numbers to troll or the ones being trolled by it lol.

Except anyone with an understanding more than a simple minded kid would know that most of that 1.8 million base didn't go out and buy a Wii U to play all these AAA ported 3rd party games that they already own on their other systems months ago. Pretty sure those developers already though of this. They ported that stuff to make an easy low risk buck and its what they are getting and then some.

Those attach rates are decent in any case but given the circumstances of the Wii U getting those game later and at full starting price it still doing exceptional.

Here's a thought. Wait till a newly released AAA quality (and/or popular franchise: AC4 or whatever the hell) 3rd party title comes out for the Wii U, exclusive or no... doesn't matter. Then we can start looking at comparisons on a more equal standing and then we can start with those super duper expectations on attach rates.

Not true at all. The majority of Nintendo console owners are Nintendo fans and casuals that buy few games per system, and mostly buy non-core titles (fitness/dance/party games). While many of the AAA launch titles are indeed old for PC, Mac, Xbox and Playstation gamers, they should be new experiences to Nintendo players that missed out on them for an entire generation. And given the number of threads here on GFAQS or Capcom-Unity or Gamespot (or pretty much any major gaming forum) filled with people whining about how Capcom should port Resident Evil 5 using the Dead Rising Wii engine, or how Street Fighter IV and MvC3 should be ported using the TvC engine, it becomes clear that Nintendo fans were hurting for many of these core titles. So I am to believe that the market situation went from people desperate for these franchises to people suddenly not caring because they are "old" or "have them on their other systems"? Good ol' Nintendo Defense Force. You guys will make any excuse for anything that isn't perfect in the land of Nintendo.

You've gotta be kidding...?

I would say why this is wrong, but you're joking?

Waiting for a 3rd party game released at the same time would be more fair...

I have a Wii and PS3 and a fair few PC games. I'm sure many people do...

You're just a lame troll right ?
