To be honest a small overlay would be very nice if they gave developers a tool to do so.

But hey lets not forget pre ps3 update where you couldn't use the xmb mid game.

If you want an example, boot up enchanted arms and you will see how it used to be.

I think in time it will improve.

Honestly the best way is to send feedback to nintendo.

This is probably one of the biggest reasons I want them to speed up the OS. It would feel a lot more streamlined if miiverse only took a second or two to load in between games.

Nothing other than the fact that it could be faster. Right now, it takes about 11-14 seconds to use miiverse while playing a game. Returning to the game from miiverse doesn't even take two seconds. Ideally, the whole thing should be seamless.

That, and I don't think it's possible to access miiverse from games like Black Ops 2 during online multiplayer.
