So is anyone else playing the Wii U on a standard TV?

Yeah, I'm still playing my games on this

I never saw a reason to buy a new TV since Nintendo kept giving me the option to play on an SDTV. Maybe in 9th gen I'll get a new one if they make it totally incompatible with the SDTVs.

Eventually there will come a time where you will HAVE to upgrade so you can't stay with crt forever.

People like you and some of these other posters are the reason the rest of us had to suffer through SD on the original Wii.

So....

You can afford to buy a Wii U, but not an HDTV, which are like HALF the price of the Wii U.

Some people huh.... Crazy

He most likely had money for only of them and chose the Wii U. Not everybody can just throw their money at things when they get some.

As for me, I'm playing on a SDTV, but when I get some spare money, I'm vying a 39 inch HDTV.

I don't have a Wii U, but I play my regular Wii and all my other consoles on a standard TV to avoid the annoying lag you get on flat panel TVs. :P

I would go insane without hd. Get the tv first, buy the consoles later. Especially in this hd age. Wait till ps4 and 720, with sd it's going to be terrible since games will be native 1080p most likely finally.

Hook up a pc to a tv with s-video and you'll see what I mean. Ugggllyyy

I don't see how one can afford a WiiU but still not be able to buy an HDTV unless they never actually looked at prices for an HDTV for about 5 years.

It isn't that I can't afford it, I'm just not willing to pay money for better graphics if I can get away with it.
