WILL developers be willing to downgrade their products for the WiiU? I say no

Here. Let me put it into perspective.

This is what CURRENT top of the line graphics look like (The next Xbox/PS will be pushing to this level or past it):

http://www.cinemablend.com/images/gallery/s45670/Crysis_3_13449628462269.jpg

This is what Wii U looks like:

http://www.justpushstart.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/new-super-mario-bros-u-hd.jpg

In other words, expect Wii U to get left in the dust just like the Wii did. No one's downgrading their ports. Why? Because its a lot work to make their game look awful.

Anyone else find the second screenshot more impressive?

Well, if it's your preference in style, I very well can't argue with that. Art is subjective.

But to be fair, the first screenshot is technically impressive on all levels where as the second is flat and devoid of detail.

And, again we're getting side tracked. This isn't about picking apart the screenshots to nitpick at me for trying to point out something that is painfully obvious. I chose NSMB because it is Nintendo's launch game - it's flagship title to demonstrate the Wii U. The point is to show you what CURRENT gen tech is capable of and what we can expect in the future from the next Xbox/PS... Versus what the Wii U is doing right now with its next-gen tech. Unless if there is a rabbit hideing under the Wii U's hood (Hint: there probably isn't) it's GOING to get left behind and its going to get left behind further then the Wii did.

Complain to me all you want that I chose NSMB. If there is a better looking game, we can use that instead and compare screenshots...

A 6670 cannot pull off that first shot. As such, PS4/720 won't be pulling that off, since they'll be running 6670's.

As said previously, nice non-bias there.

Launch window title. Also since when have launch titles been a measure of what something is capable of? Is this your first generation of gaming? Also its the NSMB series. Since when is this series intent to be visually impressive?

Damn That looks just like how Crysis 2 does on my X360. Can't wait for the X720, gonna look even better.

Come on, man.

These are 2D screenshots. They are gorgeous and the art style is brilliant (I have the first game), but they're no where near a decent indication of the console's performance nor are they any indication that the Wii U will be able to keep up. These mean nothing from a technical stand point. There's as many textures on the screen as there are on Prophet's belt buckle.

Pretty, yes. Doesn't prove me wrong. Artistic merit alone doesn't prove that Wii U can keep up... It's no where near as technically impressive as C3 on a technical level and that's more important.

Not a launch title.

So why is your argument of the Wii U being on-par with the 360/PS3 if launch titles are what's important? Why are current PS3/360 games being used now and not their launch titles for comparison purposes?

Besides, we have no proof of what Sony/Microsoft's next gen systems are capable of. Likely, they won't match what PCs are doing now, as the cost to manufacture such systems and pricing that consumers are willing to pay is out of their means.

lol, a 6670?

No, the 6670 cannot produce that. A 680 can.

Current man. Current. Do you know what that means? It means right now - not back in time during Q1 2011 as a budget GPU to address the low end market.

And still, my original argument flies over your head. It's so simple, but we're pretty bent on the fact that I posted what we can expect from the near future it seems.

Well first off how about not posting a screen shot that looks more like concept art instead of actual gameplay?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6uoao1WqLQ

Don't get me wrong, Crysis 3 is technically impressive but again, you're posting high end PC quality stuff. You can say thats how the next ms/sony system will look like but until specs are actually released you can't say that the wii u will get left behind. After all the pc version will look loads better then the 360/ps3 version, yet the 360 and ps3 are still getting crysis 3. If anything your post only reaffirms that the wii u is capable of getting ps4/720 ports
