Generations have always overlapped in the past.
Just because the first nextgen console is released does not mean that everybody drops whatever they are working on and only make games for that console.
Just see how long Sony kept the PS2 alive after they released the PS3.
And handhelds have always been running their own race.
And over half of both the PS3 and Xbox 360 launch titles had already been released on other hardware so it's not strange to see PS3/360 ports on Wii U.

Yes but when you saw Xbox 360 and PS3 first running you could see even with the release games they were doing stuff more advanced than the previous gen, even ports ran smoother and were higher res than the previous gen equivalents. This time we have WiiU simply matching current gen not even stepping up the frame rate or running the games is proper 1080p. Now they are running just same or worst than all the comparison's with the Xbox360 version (the oldest of this gen). This does not say next gen or 8th gen or whatever you want to call it.

And we had Madden games that had better graphics and less content than the PS2 version, that didn't directly scream nextgen back then as well.
And the PS3 port of Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII had so much lag so it was not even fun comparing it to the Xbox 360 version, that didn't scream nextgen as well.

Yes, because a couple of examples makes what you're saying relevant...

Next gen started already. Get over it!

Actually, many don't consider Wii U the start of the next gen, let alone a next gen console. I'm with them.

Wii U is just basically a Wii with a few more bells n' whistles... much like the 3DS is just a DS with the aforementioned bells n' whistles, and Nintendo has stated that they don't consider the 3DS a next generation handheld.

Alongside the fact that Wii U is sportin' a lot of current gen ports to the system, and even a Wii U game headed to PS3/360 sometime early this year, that just further cements this way of thinking.

Power is not indicative of generation, period.
