IGN are SONY fan boys i do however visit there site but it does irritate me how much they love SONY for example when PS VITA came out they were like "much better sales than 3DS"

27million 3DS
4.4million PS VITA

even a year apart the Vita has sold worse

IGN are clueless when it comes to stats and opinions on SONY

To be fair that was before the sudden and massive price drop of 3DS. A price drop like that makes all bets off when it comes to sales.

What was the last good Sony IP they made themselves?

Ratchet and Clank. That's the only valid answer.

As for the OP's question, the last quality game Nintendo made, was NSMBU. Yeah, it's a cheap rehash, but it's a well made one. Why change what ain't broke?

For choosing a Sony game, these are the choices of dev:

Quality post.

PS3 had some amazing games this generation but very few if any were actually made by Sony themselves. Sony's strength is in the exclusives they lock in. Just like Microsoft's is 3rd Party/Arcade/Online.

Nintendo on the other hand always cranks out top notch games from inside. Even NSMB2 was objectively a quality game.

All three have their strengths.

actually I have a hard time finding an exclusive that Sony doesn't own the dev to, though they did buy alot of devs this gen.

Uncharted isn't a Sony game. It's 3rd party...

Actually, it's second party. Sony bought Naughty Dog after the success of the Crash series.

Naughty Dog is First Party. They bought them. Second Party would just mean they have an exclusivity deal with Sony.

Second party game would mean exclusivity deal, second party dev would be an independently run company that Sony owns the majority of shares. 2ed party devs make 1st party games though.

No doubt the latest Mario sidescroller.

By the way, Skyward Sword blows, sucks and swallows. Don't bother defending this piece of garbage, even though you still will. You've got no taste.

Camelot is a Nintendo 2nd party, because at the mo they only make games for Nintendo.
Dont think Ninty own any shares though.

A 2nd party dev, is one that isnt owned by the console maker, that only makes games for that console.

No, exclusivity deals bind a company to Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft for a certain amount of time (Usually Years) Thhose are Second Party. First Party is any Studios that they own, not just have deals with.
