Does the eShop work for the Wii U?

Can you download and play Virtual Console games on the Wii U, like with the Wii? And can you transfer all of your Wii Virtual Console data to it?

You can't download Virtual Console games through E-Shop, you have to use the Wii Shop Channel in Wii Mode to do that, but everything else, yeah.
