My idea for a Nintendo achievement system

I personally don't care much about achievements not being there as you don't get anything for trophies or achievements on the other system. Just a worthless time sink for some games since I'm a completionist. But I think they could be great if Nintendo had their own unique style to them.

My idea is for something called Mii Mansion. For each achievement you unlock, you can get points to expand your house, or unlock video game related furnishings for your house. It would turn the whole system into like a big Animal Crossing type game as people could visit each others systems and look through the crap they have earned from various games. That is an achievement system I could get into!

Those are unlockables ~_~U

the only thing an achievement give you is a clap.

If you get something from it, it become an unlockable.

So, kinda like Sony's PS Home? Might be cool as long as it doesn't go crazy with real-life microtransactions. That said, to expand on the idea, there could just be a shop where you can "buy" furnishings for your home with those achievement points and also get discount vouchers for the eShop if you want them.

NO MICROTRANSACTIONS!!!

I think achievements could give you points to expand your house and the tougher ones could give you items to decorate your house with. I could see me trying for a really tough Zelda achievement so I could get a cool Master Sword to show off in my house or something.

Yeah, I don't want any microtransactions. Just a place to use the points you get to get cool digital stuff.

Achievement system idea:
- Do stuff.
- Unlock Achievement.

Wanna know my idea?

Look at any achievement system in any game by Sakurai.

Kirby Air Ride
Brawl
Kid Icarus

All achievements are hidden on a grid. When you unlock one, you get to see the adjacent achievements.

Metroid Zero Mission and Super Metroid are some of the finest 2D games ever made and are the best in the series.
Metroid Fusion is pretty cool I guess.

I think it is a cool idea, but all you are really suggesting is a game world representation of the achievements you have received except instead of looking at a list you are looking at a room.

So you get all the heart containers in Zelda.. Instead of seeing a trophy for it on your profile, you get to invite Mii's over to your e-elf house to see your decorative Master Sword in your electronic Polly Pocket world.. There is no way Nintendo will ever convince TP's to do this for the Nintendo version of games.

It is a cool little gimmick, but resources will simply be deemed better spent elsewhere.
