Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Wii U the first system to port last gen games?

Tomb Raider Legend was on PS2 and 360 at its launch.

Nah, the 360 had plenty, and the NES had arcade ports.

Mickey Mania.
It was an SNES game, but was ported in Europe to the PS1.

I had an Xbox 360 at launch

It had Gun, Tony Hawk American Wasteland, Madden 06, NBA 2K6, King Kong, Need for Speed: Most Wanted

The 360 had a lot of last gen ports at launch and even afterwards.

NES Ported Arcade games from before it.

Genesis also got NES games ported to it.

Pretty sure all generations got ports from the previous gen.

Yet you only name systems from prehistoric times. LOL fail

Metroid Zero Mission and Super Metroid are some of the finest 2D games ever made and are the best in the series.
Metroid Fusion is pretty cool I guess.

I remember the Xbox 360 getting GUN, Tony Hawk Wasteland, Kameo, and Perfect Dark Zero. While Kameo and Perfect Dark Zero were never released for the original Xbox, it is quite clear they just ported over what they were working on when they were intended to be original Xbox games and polished them up very rushed. Dreamcast and Gamecube had Resident Evil ports from the playstation.

Maybe I'm wrong, need some clarification. For example COD and asscreed are ports from last gen systems and are nothing new.

You are aware that even if the system is new to Nintendo it's technology is about the same as an 8 year old XBox 360 right? What else is it going to port? In the next year the relationship between the games is going to be the same as with the Wii versus the 360/PS3/PC again when the next XBox and PS3 come out.

This has been going on since the days of the NES and Sega Master System. But wait, it goes back even further to the days of Atari 2600!
