His point is moot, that's what you and he doesn't understand. It doesn't matter if it's a more compatible hardware or it can do things slightly beyond ps3/360 abilities because of the gpu it can't play a game that is made for and optimized for a console with several times more processing power.

Except devs have stated that PS4 and 720 won't be "several timesK more powerful than the Wii U. Everything points to a gap closer than PS2/GC/Xbox, all of which shared many a multiplat.

Nothing you've said gets around the fact that Epic stated that Wii U will be able to have UE4 games ported to it. Nothing.

No dev has said that, they said wiiU is in the league of ps3/360 100 different ways.

98% of those comments were replies to having been asked if the U will be able to run games scheduled to be released in the near future. By extension, that is the PS3 & Xbox360. There is no new Xbox & no new PS4 so comparisons are irrelevant.
So far the ONLY new system set to be substantially more powerful than any of the mainstream consoles is 'Steambox'. Hardly supprising Gabe Newall can be arrogant like that.
As it stands, right now it is January. At this moment in time the soonest we will see a new Xbox/PS4/anything else, is Christmas this year. 11 months away.
You really think the U will not see any heretofor unannounced multiplatform titles between now & then?
