IGN slams the Wii U launch, how can this be considered unbiased journalism?

It would be more controversial for him to claim Wii-U had the best launch ever, so that can't be it.

Flamebait attracts much more attention. There's a few threads here on this board that gets flat out ignored for not being negative in some way.

I read it, am a Nintendo fan, and didn't see this as "slamming" anything. I don't think any rational person can see complete perfection when examining how Nintendo has handled the Wii U.

I still have people asking me if it's a controller for the Wii, and if the Wii can play Wii U games. And this isn't a simple misunderstanding, they straight up don't know from the information Nintendo has provided everyone.

I just read the entire article and I have no idea where the TC got any of that bull**** from, he's lying his ass off.

The article, which a professional opinion piece, says that Nintendo has been mostly silent over the past 2 years about the Wii U, which they were. Instead of showcasing the system, and marketing it, they just...didn't. E3 2011 and E3 2012 were surprisingly lowkey for Nintendo, they could've went balls out with the systems capabilities and its potential, and they didn't. They had the perfect opportunity to sell this thing.

Very little media attention, and a strong lack of follow-up after launch is weird, and it makes you wonder what Nintendo is thinking. That's what the article addresses.

It didn't bash the Wii U, and it didn't even mention Nintendo fans. It doesn't even have a "flame-bait" title because the title represents the article well.

You guys need to learn how to read.

So you are basing your assumption on your skewed view of the Wii-U board. Topics that prompt discussion get attention.

The biggest topic on this board currently is about porn. Nothing negative at all. So again, that can't be it, despite how much you seem to talk yourself into it.

Is it possible that the persons opinion is based on his real perceptions of the Wii-U and not just some conspiracy to garner internet traffic on a site that is already extremely popular?

One example =/= the source of my assumption. Bad news garners attention much more than good news, ESPECIALLY on the internet.

The internet IS for porn. Where have you been?

And yeah, IGN is THE most popular gaming site on the internet, at least in the western world.

They're not exactly lacking for hits.

This is just pathetic, even for IGN. Saying that there's nothing coming, that Nintendo handled the launch poorly, pretty much bashing the Wii U and its fans.

Give me a break.

They wrote a sizable article with citations and analysis. You wrote sentence with nothing but your opinion. I see no reason to take your side.

Well then tell me where you are getting your information from. News is news. It is good we live in a society that bad things are newsworthy over good things. It would be pretty bad if helping a neighbour shovel their walk was newsworthy while a senseless murder was so commonplace it wouldn't be.

You said the author wrote the article to get internet traffic. Do you have a source or are you just dismissive of it because you don't like the content of it?

Where have I been? Having actual intercourse with hundreds of gorgeous women instead of learning the internet is just for pornography. But I am an ignorant stud like that.

Nearly anywhere. Check a forum, a thread about insulting a game/product will get more views, more comments, and more replies than any other.

Hahaha, yeah, you keep telling yourself that, man.
