Yeah, some people have the wrong-headed idea that a Pokemon game with multiple regions wouldn't be a badly-balanced cluster**** worse even than GSC.

What's bad about GSC, I thought it was a great game.

Johto was the shortest region ever with a laughably low-level Elite 4, just so the game could fit in a soulless, badly butchered version of Kanto.

And yet Johto alone was more interesting than the entirety of Hoenn and Sinnoh combined.

GSC was the pinnacle of Pokemon. It's been downhill since, and it's pretty obvious why.

ITP: Anyone who disagrees with me is stupid and wrong.

but seriously, LOLNO, its going completely uphill, maybe your life is going downhill but not this franchise. With each new Pokemon game, more and more improvements are being made, more technical advancements, more enjoyable features like the TMs in Gen 5, better stories, and adding features to the competitive- what the real fans do, not simply playing through game that 6 year olds can do.

Gen 3 added abilities, nature and an enhanced IV system which not only made each Pokemon unique, it actually made competitive strategic and where competitive fighting really took off. Gen 4 had the best thing to happened to Pokemon, physical/special moveset split not damning a Pokemon because of its type. Gen 5 advanced Gen 4 even more with dream world abilities and even had an IV/EV check to help casuals get into it.

The only people who dislike the later gens are completely nostalgia blinded fools who are so obsessed with their childhood they can't see the big and better picture.

Or they're n00bies who only play the story mode that any 6 year old can accomplish. The stories in Pokemon are completely forgettable compared to most other RPGs anyways.

Pokemon has been pretty much exactly the same. Any change in quality is just based on how much you like the new Pokemon and region.

Why would you say the series has gone downhill?

False. Gen 4 had crappy pokemon but brought a lot of great features.

Nostalgia blinded fool. The later gens are objectively better in every technical way. Subjective crap like "designs" or "music" might be worse but those are completely subjective.

Then of course we have the utter old school fanboys who prefer "black and white" LOL

The e-shop also has the idea that if the mechanics were standardized throughout this egames, then they could make the Pokemon storage actually ON YOUR 3DS thus being able to use them throughout all of the games. Also,a main 3DS pokemon Trainer Card showing/listing all your badges/statistics throughout all your games would just be cool.

Too much focus on endless microgrinding, annoying minigames, and PVP, as apposed to having an interesting, fun world to explore.
Basically, they took out all of the interesting bits to push the slow, boring turn-based combat. And then made it even slower and more boring.

Except that's not true at all.

The old games were less interesting and fun to explore than current gens and only children care so much about that anyways. Seeing by your posts you don't even like what makes Pokemon Pokemon anyways so you're not even a fan.

Besides there are much more interesting and fun world games than Pokemon anyways (gen 4+5 had much more interesting worlds than Gen 1).
