PS3 launch: 11/17/06
Wii U launch: 11/18/12

PS3 in December: 490k
Wii U in December: 460k

PS3 total at that point: 687k
Wii U total at that point: 890k

PS3 did not have a worldwide launch, EU was much later for PS3 than WiiU.
