Why is Nintendo's hardware so behind?

I don't understand why Nintendo uses worse hardware than their competitors. Does anyone know why?

Because they know how the gaming market works.

Perhaps because their developers don't have as much experience as the competition. Microsoft has worked with computer related stuff for longer. Not sure about Sony though.

More villains need to be protagonists. BiS proves it can work.
Ridley, Ganondorf, Fawful, Bowser, and Dimentio all for their own games!

It's a console thing.

Sony and Microsoft do it as well.

Accessibility is the reason Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are way behind when it comes to hardware.

The difference is Nintendo tries to offset it with trying new experiences where Sony and Microsoft sell overpriced mid-low level (at best) entertainment devices.

Eh, I think it does in some regards. It's not enough to make or break a console, but power can still improve the experience a lot.

Well if you read in another thread, the gamepad they sell are going for like $200 alone. It's kinda crazy when they invest so much on a gamepad and leave the system unit itself to suffer. Atleast it runs at 32w and save you a few bucks a year on your bills.
