Really got burned with my Wii U(s) this time.

So I bought a Wii U deluxe edition today and after hooking it up was not able to get the system to display on my monitor. The power light went from red when it was off to a flashing blue when it was on. I tried different outlets, different HDMI cables, double checked all the ports, but to no avail. Finally called Nintendo and they told me to ship it to them for repairs.

Since I live in NYC and the Toys R Us in Times Square has plenty of stock, I went back to the store and exchanged the system for a new one. I brought it home and it was actually able to display on my tv screen. So I set everything else up, did the system update, etc., and an hour or so later went to play my first game, SMBU. Put it in the system (yes, the right way) and got an Invalid disc error. Tried with Nintendoland, same error. Tried with a bunch of other Wii discs, same error. Tried standing it horizontally and vertically, same error. Tried removing the disc, unplugging the system and waiting 10 minutes, plugging back in and inserting the disc again... same error. So I called Nintendo again and they of course told me to ship them the console for repairs.

I'm sitting here baffled as to how I could have purchased 2 broken consoles in the same day (after launch day at that). Needless to say, I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated. This feels rushed and unprofessional - as someone who works in technology, I would never release a product unless every unit went through some level of quality assurance. Obviously the most basic of tests was not performed on either system I purchased today. At this point, I can't decide whether I will try to exchange the console again or just return it and get my money back.

1. Lying about having the console: Check
2. Subtly knocking the sales of said console: Check
3. Saying essentially "dis is da worst ting evar": Check
4. Leaving open for others like you to come agree with you: Check

Congratulations TC, you've successfully blended the troll topic and the troll bait topic into one. Why'd you make this alt 3D-Shado, did your other one get banned or something?

Nintendrones cannot bear the truth.

Nintendo rushed this hardware, deal with it. It's faulty and not futureproof at all.

~2.5 million in 1.5 months is bad sales? Maybe I missed the memo.

Do we have to bring up the red ring of death, and PS3s on fire? Guess what, all the systems have been faulty lately. That's what happens when a console is trying too hard to be a PC.
