Scenario: If the Wii U was launched 2 years from now with all of the big games?

So imagine that the console release was held back for around 2 years and then the console was released with Zelda, Mario Kart etc as release games.

A full list of of the most popular games Nintendo make.

Would this be very bad financially? Surely it would ensure sales of the console are huge but large amounts of money would be lost by releasing the games together.

I just think it would be really great if the Wii U had waited for a year or two and then released when some games had been developed and ready to release. Since Nintendo make their own games a choice could be made to develop the games before releasing the system.

But I don't know which option would make Nintendo the most money.

Zelda, and Mario would be fine. Maybe even pikmin.

And sequels could be made after that.

competing hardware would have secured the market completely by then.

I would have also made the hardware much, much stronger.
Nintendo jumped the gun.
I used to say Waluigi sucked.

Iwhat Hog said. Would only be acceptable if Wii U's hardware was stronger.

The Wii U would've obliterated the Console Market with amazing first-party titles and decent third party support.
Does your SSB4 roster have Shulk?...No....Then I hate it.

so we'd have to live off the Wii for 2 more years? No thanks.
Metroid Zero Mission and Super Metroid are some of the finest 2D games ever made and are the best in the series.
Metroid Fusion is pretty cool I guess.

Unless you're a shareholder, that's none of your concern. I guarantee Iwata couldn't care less what you make as a living.

It would be the same as launching a Playstation 2 now. The 720, PS4, and Steambox would watch the WiiU come into the shower room with a few cute little ribbons in it's hair and follow it into the shower and make it wear lipstick before letting it know whose house it is over and over and over again.

The WiiU uses current generation(360/PS3) tech and has an old school single-touch lcd screen ripped out of a DS shoved in the controller. It's not on the same playing field.
