480 megabits. You must have a nice connection...

USB 3.0 is the future and its here. Its kinda like BD and DVD. DVDs are every where but we do know the advantages of BD.

My only question to anyone who has a WiiU are you downloading directly to the device? I don't think the WiiU has anything on their store for huge DL to see if this is an issue atm.

USB 3.0 is pointless unless you have hardware to match it.

Hardware needed to make good use of USB 3.0 won't even be found in Xbox 720 or ps4.

That's not the point.

The point is Wii U doesn't have it so it's the most important thing........ until PS4 and 720 don't have it either.

Just like "slow CPU"

Quoted for truth.

The system doesn't make any real use of the USB other than attaching HDD, and that can transfer game data fast enough when playing. It's not an issue

What is this? The main reason for USB 3.0 is for data transfer, IF Nintendo released the console with proper storage then it would not be an issue but since you're forced to use larger external drives(Unless you care to claim 32gb will last you 8 years) then USB 3.0 is absolutely NEEDED as it improves the transfer speed of data between the two devices.

They still can.

Have you seen the difference between playing a game off of a USB 2.0 storage device and playing it from an SSD (even connected via USB 3.0)? The upgrade is absolutely incredible.

Except for the fact that the PS3 receives a huge benefit when you put an SSD in it, and that's when upgrading it from an HDD storage device that's faster than USB 2.0 to begin with.

Are we gonna pretend that USB 3.0 isn't significantly faster than 2.0 now?

Well duh, since Nintendo doesn't have it then it doesn't matter. Just like HD on the Wii and DVD playback!

It seems Nintendo just went hey, our USB 2.0 ports can run 3.0 devices but at 2.0 speeds! Good enough! There's no way our stupid consumers will even notice the difference!

No, seriously, what REGULAR person would notice, much less care/understand it?
