Why aren't more people buying the Wii U?

There are over 95 million+ Wii owners out there. Why haven't they all bought into the hype of the Wii U and jumped on the Nintendo bandwagon yet?

What hype?

The basic model is $100 more than the basic model of the competition.

2013. New year. Nintendo has nothing new and innovate to show. NSMBU? Nintendo Land? Bwahahaha. Online games on 2013? No, unless you get Black Ops, or other titles that are already available on cheaper consoles.

They all know real systems are right around the corner

I repeat the question, what hype? Nintendo's ad campaign for the Wii U was, for all intents and purposes, non-existant. They were no where near the level of aggressive marketing that they drummed up for the Wii.

And while I'm sure there are solid titles on the Wii U now, many of them are ports from games that have been out on other consoles for at least a year (a la Mass Effect 3 and Arkham City). Get back to us when we start seeing Nintendo's big franchises and NEW games built ground up for the system.

The worst thing about Nintendo selling so many Wii's is that it enabled them to disappoint that many people.

They won't be fooled twice.

Trying to hard to what?

Because most people think the Wii U is an overly expensive peripheral for the Wii.
