Yes because expecting the updates for VC you already own is a bad kind of entitlement.

Except it isn't an update. Updates are improvements to existing games on the current platform, like back when Starfox64 on the Wii VC got an update to stabilize the frame rate. Shifting a game from one platform to a different one is not an update. If anything, it is a port, and ports aren't free.

Then why were you allowed to transfer the VC over for free in the first place? You don't even know what you are saying, and just blindly defending a giant corporation. If they didn't rush the WiiU to market to try to get holiday sales, the VC could have had this feature. You never know, so you are trolling people based on your ignorant opinion.

The fact that the system will recognize what games you own on VC kinda ruins your point as these are still digital copies of games, they are still being "Updated" to add the features and you are still paying a dollar to buy them.

Then don't pay for the update and play the damn game on the Wii mode. Simple as that.

lol, a troll calling others trolls, like you know what you're talking about..... They allow you to transfer from one compatible platform (the Wii) to another (the Wii mode of Wii U) that holds the same restrictions as it did originally. Wii VC games aren't stored on the Wii U-specific flash memory. It is stored with the rest of Wii-specific information on a separate 512MB chip on the motherboard, and therefore, segregated from all Wii U functionality. They exist exactly as they would on the original hardware, and no "update" can change them to be compatible on another platform. They are granting you a "copy" of the Wii U-only version with additional features at a discount.

^EXACTLY this. What all the other whiners don't understand about it is well beyond the rest of us (they also fail at actually reading the instruction manuals they got at launch).
