Are mario and zelda the only franchises nintendo cares about now?

Kid Icarus was made by a collaboration of Sakurai's team and Nintendo, along with Metroid Other M, and SSB is also a collaboratio between Namco and Nintendo.

Yup they only care about mario and Zelda.


1. I'll get this. Although I haven't finished xenoblade chronicles yet.
2. Don't even know what this is. Gonna have to wait and see.
3. Definitely getting this. Although I don't care for the art style.
4. Meh. I never got into pikmin.
5. Lol, I'm not a casual gamer.
6. Same as above.
7. This looks interesting. I've always been a fan of crossovers. Even though I'm not familiar with the shin megami tensei series.

Well, we just got two new kirby games and a collection game all within the last two years. I did for get about metroid though. And after the abomination that was other m, we need a new proper game in the series.

Yeah, because a game made from scratch is perfect filler for a game made from scratch.

Mario & Zelda games are console sellers.
and Wii U hsn't sold as good as people expected.
So I assume Nintendo announced the titles to create some positive hype about the console and hopefully to sell more consoles.

People need to calm down, Nintendo's other core franchises are probably being developed but wont be released for a while. The reason Nintendo is focusing on Mario and Zelda right now is most likely due to the fact that PS4 and Nextbox are around the corner. Using their two biggest franchises to combat their competitors next systems basically. Star Fox/Metroid is inevitable with Retro still working on something unannounced, FZero will most likely make its return, and more. Those titles will probably start coming out further into the WiiU's lifespan so there isn't a drought of quality titles on the system like there was with the Wii. Its strategic planning, people expect everything to come out/be announced at once. But if that happens what will happen to the console later in its lifespan? Just be patient people. The games will come.
