Don't get me wrong, the HD version looks better compared to the original Wind Waker...but WW has the most timeless visuals out of all of the Zelda games (except maybe SS, but it'd be weird to remake that now), so I found that to be a strange choice.

Why not give Majora's Mask a makeover instead? The graphics are more aged than the original Wind Waker's, and it could even lead to a 3rd entry in the Hero of Time "series" (where Link can finish his quest to find Navi).

True...they can't make money off of WW currently (and MM is already on the VC iirc), so that's a point...but...it's still weird to choose to remake the Zelda whose graphics have aged the best.

That's what I was wondering. Most people would guess that it's because it's to follow up on the 3DS release of Ocarina of Time, but I feel that it's a complete waste because OOT3D was just a slight facelift port of the original and an HD remake is so much more suited for Majora's Mask (imo: the best game of the series). At $40 for a port I'd rather just get it on Virtual Console or..play my N64 cart. Shame :(

WW is the only 3D Zelda not compatible with 8th gen systems. Besides, they will probably put MM on the 3DS to compliment OoT.

Well, in that ND, they said they were experimenting with remaking past Zelda styles in HD when they got the idea. It sounds less like they planned this, and more that while trying it out, they were so impressed with how WW turned out that they decided to go with it.
