The comparison of X and Xenoblade's colors is not a valid complaint at all.

All they shown us was one area that looks like the Bionis Leg and people are freaking out because it looks "dull" or realistic. Well if I had to bet, I would bet that Xenoblade was supposed to have "realistic" graphics, like Twilight Princess and not Skyward Sword. The Bionis Leg consists of grass, sand, brown mountains, water and a sky. Why should an area like that be vivid at all unless they are going for a Skyward Sword like art style?

The art style are no longer limited by the hardware like Xenoblade, QUAKE III, Twilight Princess or all last gen games with a realistic setting were. Its supposed to look like it would in real life and thats what it looks like.

The problem is that everyone is assuming every area is going to feature the same type of environments when Xenoblade clearly indicates it wont. We dont know what other areas are going to look like, we havent seen them but I highly doubt something like Eryth Sea during shooting stars is going to have "dull" colors and "dull" ocean water.

The entire world of the game needs to fit in with each other. You cant have one area look like something out of Skyward Sword and another look like its from Twilight Princess. This is just how one area in the game looks like in their art style.

There are a couple shots in the trailer where you can see brighter and vivid colors, in the sky and during the mech transformations. That is because that is how its suppose to look. If a different area is supposed to look vivid than it will.

Stop basing the look of the entire game off of one location.

Wouldn't worry, once we see actual gameplay footage it's not going to look nearly as "detailed" as the trailer.

I don't lile how cluttered the UI is and I hope they move at least half of it to the gamepad. That is a valid issue. Colours is not lol.

Is this a joke? What could they do to hamper the performance of the engine, hence reduce the quality of the graphics?

We already saw the problems with the grass in the trailer and thats about it. Enemies and character models are obviously not going to be an issue as the engine spawns them once you get close to where they should be. Environments obviously isnt an issue. Effects and combat pace dont seem to be an issue as well though we didnt see any full screen attacks.

If anything, its going to run and perform better by the time its released. The demanding processes that the engine needs to be able to handle have already been shown in the trailer.

Disagree.

Isn't Xenoblade one of the most demanding games on Wii?

I think its safe to say monolith soft will do a good job using the Wii's power as well.

Wait - people don't think that was gameplay footage?

So, the battle menu, chat menu, health bars, damage counters and radar screen mean it's a cutscene?

Metroid Zero Mission and Super Metroid are some of the finest 2D games ever made and are the best in the series.
Metroid Fusion is pretty cool I guess.

Or the trailer equivalent of bullshots. This is something Japanese developers have been caught out doing with their initial JRPG trailer more than once in the past.

We've seen how the Wii U struggles with less impressive looking games than that footage, and Monolith are an unproven quantity when it comes to HD development so far, so the scepticism is not without merit here.

Until I see actual gameplay footage running on actual hardware, I'm calling BS on this one.
