The 7 discounted virtual console games?

I was looking at the list of the discounted VC games, and was thinking what if the games were chosen based on game series Nintendo currently has in development for the Wii U... it would make sense, to want to help promote those series before announcing new games for them... Any thoughts?

I don't think we're be seeing a new Balloon Fight any time soon. Unless they make it another Nintendo club thing like the Tingle one, but why would they try to advertise that?

I don't see why they couldn't, it would be great to see more old nes games get modern revivals kinda like kid icarus did on the 3DS...

Well, Balloon Fight is in Nintendoland and they seemed pretty proud of it. Who knows.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Balloon Fight get a new game on WiiU. Why else would they randomly choose that game for Nintendo Land and as a VC discount release?

I suppose it could be totally random, though. I mean, a lot of people (myself included) thought Nintendo was going to revive Ice Climber when Nana and Popo were in the Smash Bros games.

Metroid will happen for sure, probably on both Wii U and 3DS. And I'd put money on a new F-Zero coming this gen as well.
