Seeing how it was only mentioned once in this topic, I guess Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem for the GameCube is the rarest game I own. Plus, a friend usually wigs-out over the fact that I have a copy.

I guess Dragon Quest 5 DS is pretty rare as well.

Oh yeah, and every iteration of Ocarina of Time (Gold N64 cart, both GC disks, VC, and 3DS). Why I keep buying it, I don't know.

And a bunch of other stuff listed already by others (FF6 GBA, Radiant Historia, etc.) Mostly RPGs. Unfortunately, not Earthbound, the greatest game I've never played.

I also have all of the PS1-era Final Fantasy's, with the black labels. That's probably about as rare as it gets for me.

I still find this kind of post funny... The PS1 FFs all sold millions of copies, they aren't even remotely close to rare.

I'll just post this again since people seem to be ignoring it:
http://www.racketboy.com/guide/the-rarest-and-most-valuable-video-games (and, again, this talks about expensive games, but they mention if they're actually rare).

So what? The guy isn't acting like his stuff is all that rare. He just said that's as rare as it gets for him and the topic IS about the rarest games people own. There was no criteria stating that the games had to be ultra rare to post, nor did it ask everyone to lightly mock anyone who posted something that is somewhat common (in terms of collectable games). Give him a break. >_>

Thing is, if he owns almost any other game in existence it's instantly rarer than those. PS1 FF games are the dictionary definition of "insanely common".

It's like saying Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is your rarest game... The only way that's possible is if you don't own any other games.

Just a heads up, this site is at least two years out of date. The site I posted is more reliable.

However, it doesn't list all Japanese games. You kind of just have to know those.

I usually check this site for rarity. The price guides are long out of date and some of the rarity levels seem off, but its a good place to start. Note: the PS2/GC and PS3/Wii console generations are not worth the time as the PS2/GC generation is incomplete and the PS3/Wii generation is lacking entirely.

I hadn't ever heard of this site, but its nice for US people. Also, I like that it actually tells you how often the game sells. Prices seem a little wonky because it only subdivides into two categories (Used and New), but its a decent guide. I just wish it had 3 categories instead of two (Cart only, cart in box, and new)

These are going to be my tools for future game shopping though.
