because most of the "rare" games people claim are rare, were mass produced enough to not be rare and just be highly sought after? I don't get why people say a game is rare, just because it has high demand. A game is rare, if there were few made, or its atleast hard to find!

Exactly. And what is worse is that stupid people will come into these topics, see a game that isn't rare, and mark its price up. Other sellers will see that price and "me too!" theirs up, and spread misinformation about games, causing prices to go up for no real reason. It happens a lot.

Case in point: One user wanting to sell ClayFighter 63 1/3 or 100 dollars. What's stupider is that 63 1/3 is not even the rare version of the game.

A "Not for Resale" demo cart of Kirby's Dreamland 2. The only difference is you can not access Boss Rush mode and Sound Test because it doesn't save after you beat Dark Matter. These were produced only for the gameboy demo stations and were sold off when they changed games by a local used game store. It's due to the oddity that Nintendo didn't lock anything else on the cart that clearly allowed it's sale without duping a kid when it was just a demo, AI it really is the full game.

Before Xenoblade came here, I bought the European version of it...it was going to be rare!!! I also have:

Tales of Graces (Wii)
Zelda: Collector's Edition
Both Baten Kaitos games (not sure how rare they are now)
Animal Crossing E+ for the GCN (Paid $80 for it, so worth it)

I can't think of anymore now. Bah

I also have all of the PS1-era Final Fantasy's, with the black labels. That's probably about as rare as it gets for me.

I still find this kind of post funny... The PS1 FFs all sold millions of copies, they aren't even remotely close to rare.

I'll just post this again since people seem to be ignoring it:
http://www.racketboy.com/guide/the-rarest-and-most-valuable-video-games (and, again, this talks about expensive games, but they mention if they're actually rare).

So what? The guy isn't acting like his stuff is all that rare. He just said that's as rare as it gets for him and the topic IS about the rarest games people own. There was no criteria stating that the games had to be ultra rare to post, nor did it ask everyone to lightly mock anyone who posted something that is somewhat common (in terms of collectable games). Give him a break. >_>

Thing is, if he owns almost any other game in existence it's instantly rarer than those. PS1 FF games are the dictionary definition of "insanely common".

It's like saying Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is your rarest game... The only way that's possible is if you don't own any other games.

Err...I'm still not seeing justification in laughing at the guy. Have you seen some of the other stuff people here have posted? I'm seeing games that are still available on the shelf brand new. Plus, what really DOES qualify as rare these days, what with Ebay and all? Not a whole lot.
