The latest poll seems to suggest that it was bad, or that people really love rumble, headsets, and touch screens. Nintendo also suggests it based on the fact that they have ditched the motion controls for everything on the Wii U except local multiplayer games.

Agree/Disagree? Discuss?

I'm of the opinion that yes, the motion controls are not good. They never actually added anything good to the games I played, but did detract from them (waggle in countless games, poor precision in Skyward Sword, etc). Every Wii game would have played the same or better with traditional controls, in my opinion of course.

Naw I think for the most part it worked though it just needed fine tuning in some games.

Well that's weird, I edited a word I left out and the whole poll exploded.

The hell?

Anyway this is an extremely vague question, seeing as the Wii had a bunch of control styles that all differed depending on genres.

Metroid Zero Mission and Super Metroid are some of the finest 2D games ever made and are the best in the series.
Metroid Fusion is pretty cool I guess.

There was nothing inherently wrong with it, just a lot of crappy games that used it poorly.

Yeah, dunno what happened there I quick edited the topic since I left out a word and it exploded the poll, lol.

And not really, there were only a few actual control types on the Wii remote. None of which were good :/

Still dunno why they don't have some of the features that GameWeasel and other addons have.

False. Pointer style was much better for FPS and arguably Wiimote controls were better for party games and dance games than a standard controller.

No, plenty of games utilized the motion controls well, including games not even originally made for the Wii like Resident Evil 4 and Okami.
