Topic.
Here's why i didn't like OoT. I found the story was the same old thing, damsel in distress with a little bit on the side.
The NPCs you interact with are annoying (mountain dudes... god...) The character development is almost non existent. Combat was fun but very rarely used.
80% of dungeons are just puzzles. Now i know zelda games are mostly exploration/puzzle solving, but i heard WW in kinda the black sheep of the series. Should i bother playing it?

You know how you didn't like OOT's 80% puzzle dungeon?

Wind Waker is 90% travelling aimlessly on open sea. Combat's great once you finally find some, 3 hours later.

All of the zelda games very similar. If you didn't enjoy one of them you probably won't enjoy the others.

Zelda was a damsel in distress? Last time I checked she escaped Ganondorf.

It's a bit of a deviation from the series though the style of the gameplay is still similar. The story is somewhat the same but it's still quite a bit different.

She was put into a dress and imprisoned in a crystal. It was glaringly obvious.

OoT is too damsel in distress? That's like saying The Godfather is too Mafia-ish.

If by "black sheep", you mean that it's currently considered the best game in the series, then yes, Wind Waker is a black sheep.
Had a Street Fighter signature for four years, but Crapcom doesn't deserve such recognition anymore.
