Wii U

I know this game isn't out yet, but its been talked about a lot and is coming out in like two - three months, but that wikipedia page has been the same since like it was announced. I went to go look up stuff about it, and the page is so dead.

First of all, what is up with the genre? Interactive movie? When was this talked about?

The Wonderful 101 is a "mass-hero action" video game being developed by god-tier Platinum Games and published by Nintendo. The game is being directed by based Hideki Kamiya and produced by master Atsushi Inaba and set to release during the Wii U's launch window (which lasts from the console's launch until whenever Reggie decides it will end) in North America and Japan.

Plot

The main character is Wonderful Jim who controls power rangers with the ability to combine and morph into various forms, such as a large fist, a giant sword or a protective gelatinous flan. Wonderful Jim and the Wonderful 101 have to fight off an alien invasion threatening Wonderful City.

Weeaboo Kyle is Jim's best friend and the dragon of the group. He is a blue pallet swap of Jim and is a Sephiroth fanboy, as evident from his long, silvery hair. Where Jim is heroic and focused, Kyle is CAAHHRAZY and hot-headed.

Comic Relief Billy is a grossly obese version of the green Power Ranger who is seen eating hamburgers a lot.

Ping is the team pet and robot which informs you about information. Despite not speaking in intangible beep-boops, the cast is able to understand it.

Gameplay

The gameplay revolves around the player controlling a large group of superheroes to fight off an alien invasion threatening the city. By using the Wii U GamePad, players can command the Power Rangers and transform them into a number of forms. These forms can be used to fight off enemies or interact with the environment. The GamePad can also be used to see areas unviewable on the main screen. It also combines gameplay elements similar to Pikmin.

Occasionally, the gameplay will shift to a third person perspective, where you stop controlling the mass of heroes and only Wonderful Jim. This will occur upon entering buildings.

There are also Star Fox sequences where you pilot airships.
