Over 3 million Wii U's sold; Nintendo net income 160 million

#31FlyinTonitePosted 1/30/2013 1:08:58 AM
I really, really, really don't understand troll logic. 3 million is a healthy number of sales. Wii u will not be a wii, wii had an interesting gimmick that nobody really had the chance to utilize before in gaming. (Using gimmick by definition here, not that "blah nintendo gimmick" crap.) There are plenty of wii us in stock but that doesn't mean the demand isn't there. It's just not selling as well as it could, thus trolls see this as a "failure."

Net sales % is interesting:

million yen

543,033 (2.4%)

556,166 (31.2%)

(The % is the decrease from the previous year.)

The dip in sales recovered 28.8%. This means they stabilized sales. So N found a way to stop the bleeding. But they're still dipping a little.

BTW: This is $5,972,657,057. Pshaaa, I got that much change in my seat cushions.

Keep in mind these numbers are the number of units shipped.

Exactly, 3 million units sold to retailers and every retailer has them in stock, stacks of them..

Wii U is not selling to consumers, hence why stores are selling them at a sale price or tossing in a game

grasping at straws now... you dont know what retailers have them and what dont

You're right, I don't shop and I don't communicate with people across the country I live in or others. I'm clearly blind and obviously tripping when I see stacks of the consoles in the stores or the articles even stating from retailers such as Gamestop, etc that the console is not doing well as they thought it would.

So this article proves one thing, Nintendo is its own worse enemy. Still not bad for them, in March they have more sales coming because I know quite a few people who want to play Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.

Who cares about its sales when it doesn't have a single decent game.

3 million Wii Us in 2 months is not bad. Lowering financial forecasts are likely due to not having any 1st party titles to boost hardware sales, makes sense. Maybe they didn't anticipate not being able to release their games before the end of the fiscal year.

The report has a March forecast.

They forecast 7,369,129,000 US Dollars in sales in March. That's an increase of 3.5%.

not sure why people wouldnt click on the link lol

I don't click it, because I did once for a link to Neogaf and immediately got a virus from it that crashed my computer, and took me awhile to get rid of. I don't go back.
