Yes the Wii U sold 3 million units, but...

Yeah, Nintendo could lose that amount every month for 10 years and they'll still be fine.

But hopefully, they DON'T, because the more successful they are, the more games and support we'll get. Hopefully they'll start making a good profit next fiscal year.

Funny thing is, Nintendo could sell 5 million Wii U's by the end of March, yet some people would still come here and say all hope is lost, Nintendo is losing it.

Where they once expected to make about 20 million yen, they now expect to lose about 37 million.

Maybe I'm missing something, or maybe it's just game "journalism" but...aren't those extremely small numbers?

20 million yen is $220000 us
37 million yen is $405000 us

Nothing to see here sony losses this every month

If Sony loses that much, then it's good to see that they're still fine.

This was his next three months prediction for nintendo not one month, but it doesnt matter nintendo will be turning a profit this fiscal year

Quit trolling nintendo just announced the are upping their expeected profit.

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/31/technology/nintendo-warns-of-weak-wii-u-sales.html?_r=0

From that link:
Net profit from April to December came to 14.55 billion, or $160 million, compared with a 48.35 billion loss in the same period last year, the company said in an earnings announcement that painted a mixed picture of its prospects.

The company raised its profit forecast for the business year through March to 14 billion, from 6 billion. Nintendo does not break out quarterly results.

Looks goodish?

Wait for Zelda.

Zelda doesn't really move consoles. Just look at the recent sales of the past three console Zeldas. They sell well, but not compared to other titles, like Super Smash Bros.

SSB will move consoles.

Why need a price drop? That will just cause them to lose MORE money, which your topic is talking about!

Kirb is trolling. He's not stupid enough to think that Nintendo should cut price.

Not always true in big business. From Target, to Walmart, to electronic companies... a loss is sometimes done on purpose to boost future sales. Tacky, but Nintendo aims for direct profit more than most console companies.... which means a lot of net loss for MS and Sony when they launch.

No, more like Mario Kart will move consoles. I expect Mario Kart to be bundled and individual copies to fly off the shelf.
