In other news the American economy has started shrinking. (Finally breaking through the stagnation we have recently seen).

Little known fact, the macroeconomics of an economy actually have bearing on earnings expectations.

Nintendo is nowhere on track to score the losses that Sony or MS took last generation. This is much ado about nothing. Wait a few years and see how much the losses are then. At that point this will be a discussion worth having

Yea, I thought so.

also saw this on gaf.

Since its not in the OP:

Sales 670.00 810.00
Operating loss 20.00 20.00

They expect increased net profit for the FY on lower revenue and an operating loss. Presumably yen related?

If I recall, they also projected a loss for this last quarter, but ended up turning a profit instead. It seems likely that they're being conservative in their projections, just in case.

I'd guess next fiscal year is going look pretty good for nintendo. Not that this is particularly bad considering how much they've managed to turn things around despite the economy. But consider for the wiiU most of the rest of the launch window games are going to end up recorded in next fiscal year, and some pretty big games have been announced some of which are certainly arriving in next fiscal year.

That's just the wiiU, keep in mind 3ds still has animal crossing and pokemon as it's huge hitters in next fiscal year.

I just have a feeling you're going to start seeing some really good numbers next fiscal year.
