Or am I just reading that wrong? |
RisingWaterPosted 1/31/2013 3:50:53 AM | No,but those are sold to consumers figures, don't mix them with shipped units. Also US+Japan+Europe* only. But it gives a pretty good idea what is happening in the world. Nintendo is really good and open when it comes to sales data info/trends,MS is zzz,Sony is total yuck(they hide everything).

pbandjamesPosted 1/31/2013 3:51:04 AM | I'm pretty sure this is wrong. Various sources have recently reported 3.1 million sales worldwide, and I sincerely doubt the Wii U sold 2.2 million only in January. --- Game news is the best news. |

I believe you are talking about shipped numbers, whereas these are the sold to consumers numbers. This also explains why Nintendo lowered their forecast for hardware sold. |
EoinPosted 1/31/2013 4:02:14 AM | Somewhat surprised at how badly Wii sales collapsed in 2012 (in Japan and North America) and how amazingly the 3DS is doing in Japan compared to how it's doing everywhere else. I knew that both of these things were happening but the extent is surprising. |

sold to retailers, not consumers Exactly. Which is why they lowered their forecast as retailers aren't going to buy 2 million more units when they still have 1.1 million piling up on the shelves. --- Sent from my iPhone via PowerFAQs 1.10 |
