I know this is a topic of controversy and many opinions.

But I dare anyone right now to find a more consistent brand for gaming than Panasonic?
By that I mean input lag, consistently among the best out there on all models. Samsung can be a hit or miss in this department also LG and Sony etc.

And overall picture quality both for plasma and LCD/LED. I have been researching this for the last couple of years. And this is my conclusion. And opinion.

I just recently bought a 42" Vizio 3D 1080p 120hz TV. Turn on game mode and you are golden. Have no lag that I can tell and the picture is great!

Plus, 3D movies are fun every now and then. Avatar and Avengers looked amazing. Love my TV :D
Playing: NSMBU, CoD: BO2, Zombi U, BF3, WoW, EVE Online, NHL 13

Only problem is if he is looking in the $300-$350 range he may not find a Panasonic plasma because he will be limited by the size he can get in that price range. That was my recommendation too. Too lazy to google it myself right now.

After some more thought I'd go with a Vizio for your price range. You'll get the most bang for your buck. The reason Vizio's are cheaper are they are American made and they buy their parts to put the TVs together. I've had a few friends with them and I've always enjoyed the picture. I've heard they have pretty bad support/warranty problems, but someone with a Vizio can confirm that for you.

just make sure you get one that either doesn't have overscan, or it is something you can enable/disable.

What model? Some Samsung's have serious problems when it comes to games.

Thanks for all the brands I made a list of all your recommendations so once my W2 money comes in I'll look at different stores and see first place I'll hit up is Brandsmart since I always hear they got some kind of sale. Thanks again everybody.
