It's because other fanboys are stupid. You have to admit though, they need to step up their game in the hardware/control department a tiny bit, I mean, as soon as Sony brings dual annies to the handheld, Nintendo basically just uses their pad, ABOVE THE DPAD! I MEAN WTF?

It doesn't really have to do with fanboys. Nintendo is posting losses, and selling fewer machines than they expected to initially. They're much more vulnerable than the X360 and the PS3 because those are part of larger corporate entities that can support them through the lean years. Nintendo has to basically deliver year-in and year-out.

For me, the big indicator will be what kind of games they have in the Wii U's second year.

Your argument seems solid, but is actually flawed.

Please note the corporate entity called microsoft has had a huge flop with Windows 8, their net profit is mostly due to their game console.

The same goes for Sony - their game console division is actually keeping the rest of the company afloat.

If anything, it seems the 'huge corporate entities' that don't involve gaming are bringing the consoles down, instead of supporting them through lean years.

Two things you should know by now.
Nintendo has been Nintendoomed since 1889 and PC gaming has been dying since the 80's.

The last time Nintendo actually won something was SNES, after that PS1, PS2 and PS3 owned every Nintendo gaming system from quality to library of games.

Ha you make a good point TC. Funny how no one ever seems to predict doom for Sony.
It's like they think power is what keeps you alive in this business. The whole concept of console wars is just stupid. There are no winners in war Only losers. As a wise man once said, Can't we all just get along?
