I have purchased consoles at launch, and only because of backwards compatibility did I really use the system in the 1st few months. Price point is important as well. However most systems are not worth purchasing at launch. --- I'm writing this so it won't be blank.

Littlebigplanet Uncharted Motorstorm Infamous Beyond Last of us Resistance Just a few examples of high profile new IPs that Sony have started this generation alone. There are many more too. Far more than Nintendo. Nice way to prove my point. lol. How many of those have had at least 3 sequels already? None? Littlebigplanet - 2 games Uncharted - 3 games Motorstorm - 3 games? Infamous - 2 games, 3 if you include dlc Beyond- 1 game? Last of us- Not even out yet Resistance- 3 games I didn't count spin off games just main games of the series. They also have games like Killzone ,God of War (2 main games on PS2, and PS3) MLB The Show, which has been rated the best baseball game for years, Twisted Metal which despite sells was still a great game, PS All Stars a smash "clone" that fans have been asking for for years. Plus some I'm still missing. Sony does a good job with 1st party games, as good as Nintendo? No not really, but definetly a bit more diverse imo. --- Indianapolis Colts: 11-6 Luck for R.O.T.Y!!!!!!
