Anyway, on-topic, I'm honestly a little worried by this; Sony's in bad shape already, and they just started to make a profit on the PS3. The Vita's still struggling and costing them a ton of money. If they launch this early, before they even get the situation with the Vita sorted out, they're going to be in serious trouble.
Everybody's seen the trouble Nintendo's been going through lately, getting the 3DS back into fighting form, retiring the WIi and launching the Wii U. And Nintendo's in prime financial health; they have almost no debt, billions of dollars in ready cash and even more in company assets. If Sony tries the same thing in the state their in, it could torpedo them for good.
I really don't want Sony to fail, but this is like watching somebody with lung cancer light up another cigarette. It's just painful to watch. |

the only first party games on that list is xenoblade This is painfully wrong --- Metroid Zero Mission and Super Metroid are some of the finest 2D games ever made and are the best in the series. Metroid Fusion is pretty cool I guess. |

The only system that's having trouble right now is Vita, and if PS4 launched soon, it would face the same problems (launching at a time other than Q4 leads to a slow start, sales of new hardware are always sluggish until Black Friday).
Realistically, I don't see Sony's new system launching for less than $500 (and that's probably including a $100 loss on Sony's part), and at that price I simply can't see them building a substantial install base. It's been proven time and time again that cheap hardware is what wins.
