Wow this is boring. It has its moments but overall it's a snorefest. Now I have to go find some other darn thing in the middle of nowhere just to progress where I no doubt will have to find some other darn thing only to go buy some other darn thing. The game is like an extended fetch quest GTA style. Go from point A to B, find X thing come back only to have to find Y thing.

You can just call 75% of games fetch quests if you think about it

I'm about halfway through the game I think. Maybe 2/3rds. I have 2 more dungeons left before the final one. No spoilers please.

No, WW has far more empty space than any other Zelda game. Go play LttP, OoT, MM, SS, MC etc. They have far more interesting worlds, every square inch has something going on (well maybe not SS so much).

Some people like the leisurely sailing, but alot of people found it dull, and irritating constantly changing wind direction (esp when aiming for submerged treasure chests).

Stay clear of both DS Zelda's, they have even emptier and duller overworlds than WW.

Yeah The Wind Waker is one of the most uneventful ones. As much as I love it, it does have its slow parts, and there are a lot of them. The music and visuals are what give it an edge.

Play any other Zelda (besides the DS ones) and you're bound to have a much more exciting playthrough.

I would start with Ocarina of Time if you want to start with the 3D Zeldas, then go to either Majora's Mask or Twilight Princess.

More villains need to be protagonists. BiS proves it can work.
Ridley, Ganondorf, Fawful, Bowser, and Dimentio all for their own games!

Why they decided to remake this instead of an actual good Zelda title is beyond me. Unless some serious changes for the better was made to the game there's no way I'm playing it again I don't care how much better it supposedly looks. This game was one of the biggest examples of the idea that graphics don't make a game.

Because it was on GC, alot of people missed it, so it's a better candidate for re-release. WW also has a very vocal minority that have been asking for a remake for some time.

I guess it's hipster cool to claim that WW or MM were best, they're like the underground indie bands of the Zelda series, both have some notable strengths, but claims of best in series are very contentious and require you to overlook some aspects which a lot of people will find unappealing.
