Boring and unimaginative sure. But something is wrong with you if you think it looks ugly. You must think real world looks ugly then.

As much as I like Monster Hunter I wouldn't want to play it with NES graphics. So graphics do have a place. But game play is very important too. It's a culmination of things that make a game good.

When games try to look as realistic as possible it sometimes takes away from it.

...Cause Xenoblade was a great game, but with turd textures.

Now X will hopefully be a great game with good textures.
