Also, 3DS is gen 6 and PSP is also gen 6 (comparable to gap PS2 & Xbox). Of course, the Wii is also 6th gen. And the Vita is 7th gen. Nintendo said the Wii U is 7th gen themselves (but only in a secret email to me by Iwata himself).

Then is leaves the Master System. That's a 10th generation console. It's so powerful and the graphics are so good, it went full circle and even went past NES graphics twice!

Anyway, I hope you guys learned a wise lesson from this. Generations are defined by power, and only power. And depending on if you're stronger or weaker than your father, then you are either a generation older or younger than them.

i know you're trying to do some form of satire, but i actually agree with this part.

also it should be noted that generations of people, are different than generations of objects.

it could be argued that the WiiU is in the class of consoles as the PS3 & Xbox 360 due to it's graphical power. it could also be argued that the WiiU is same class as the next Xbox & PS4 due the time period of it's release. both ways do have some arbitrariness, though going by time period is much more arbitrary.
