PS4, Xbox 720, Wii U, PC 'Grand Theft Auto 5' dismissed by Rockstar

Loving all of the blind fanboy hate towards the Wii U.

GTA IV came out in 2008, and that didn't stop the Wii from outselling the 360 and PS3 on a global scale.

Damage control is so funny.

Nintendo has nothing to fear when it comes to lack of 3rd party games. They could thrive on series like Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon, to stay up. Then again, MS and Sony can stay up with theirs, but Sony slightly less..

Are you kidding me? Microsoft has the worst 1st-party stable in the market by far. They have three quality franchises and two are shooters...Forza, Gears, and Halo. That's literally it as far as big-time retail releases go. They rely on third-parties more than anyone.

Also, everyone knows the Wii sold the most hardware...and everyone with half a brain (not fanboys clearly) knows it wasn't because of the game library, but the non-gamer fascination with the motion controls.

I could see them releasing an all-in-one release on next-gen consoles in the future. Not sure why they wouldn't. They need to establish their fanbase on new consoles.

they really dont, their fanbase is going to be there no matter what. when gta4 came out, people flocked to it because of previous gens gta success. as for this one there really is no reason for it to come out for ps4/720, if this game was exclusive to one console then yes theres an incentive, but rockstar is more concerned with selling games, not selling consoles, so they need to release for the consoles that the most people have.

Wish they'd just go back to what made San Andreas awesome.

You mean go back to quality?

But then they wouldn't fit in with the rest of the "AAA" market.

Rockstar never denied a PC version. It just isn't going to be launched alongside the console version. Hence the "nothing new to share" wording.

yeah the pc versions of their games normally get released several months after the console (Aside from Max Payne 3 which came out around 3 or 4 weeks after).
