Nintendo has milked mario for over 25 years. That includes all the crappy Mario Party, soccer, golf, olympics, GBA releases of Mario games, etc. Pokemon has sold a ton as well. They have also recycled the same game over and over. Nintendo and Activision are very much alike. You would think the Wii series of games would be published by Activision considering how awful they are. Nope Nintendo has gone that low. Crap sells obviously.

PS1, PS2 and PS3 dominated Nintendo to the point Nintendo is reduced to dominating handheld only. Wii is not counted anymore cause its for the casuals only, ofcourse it would sell, its games are so bad its not in the league with ps3 and 360.

You've been ignored. But before I go, I have a gift for you: it's called an apostrophe.

what you call awful are better then most games
COD is definition of recycling how many mario striker/tennis/golf game do you see in a console? (granted olympic was >_> but only 3 times) when COD starting with modern warfare was released 6 times in one console life span >_>
At least nintendo adds content and variety and improves the game and launch it but games like madden and cod ugg

Sad. No new core ip for what, 13 years now?

excluding Eshop games, Xenoblade was the last new IP.

the last new IPs from ongoing series were Animal Crossing(2002) and Brain Age(2006).

4 of the 5 best selling video game franchises are Nintendo exclusives. This should be evidence enough that the Wii U will do just fine.

Nintendo had all the same franchises on their N64 and Gamecube, and that still did not stop them from getting creamed by Sony.

Hell, the N64 even had two of the best Zelda games ever, and that still wasn't enough to outsell the PS1.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_video_game_franchises

Mario July 9, 1981 446.53 million

Super Mario September 13, 1985 275.73 million

Pokémon February 27, 1996 219.28 million

Wii November 19, 2006 192.76 million
The Wii series of physical simulation video games was created by Shigeru Miyamoto in 2006 to help with the initial launch of Nintendo's Wii console.

Of course if those are your only IP's who wouldn't think they would sell especially if some of them date back all the way to the early 80's?

So what this topic shows is that Nintendo has created nothing new worthwhile in over a decade...that Nintendo rests on their laurels since they know fanboys will buy their games regardless of their quality (Every mario kart past ds, mario party, mario and sonic olympics, etc)
