If a company does something to piss you off, you can intentionally not give them your money while still enjoying the game. Case in point with Rayman Legends.

The bad thing about used games is that somebody still had to buy that game new in order for it to become used.

That said, if you must play the game, getting used is still better than the other two alternatives (one where you directly give Ubisoft money and one where you're a criminal).
