Think about it, this is one of the most important eras of Nintendo history, and is easily one of the most successful eras of the Donkey Kong franchise. It is one of the only major original Nintendo characters where Nintendo cannot sell their games anymore, which is ridiculous. This is like them not being able to sell a Mario game on the Wii Shop. And they took the Donkey Kong Country trilogy off the Wii Shop because they forgot to pay a bill to Rare? Really?
Nintendo has Mario, which is like the best selling video game franchise of all time, and they can't pay a little bill to Rare. Better yet... Why don't they just get the rights from Rare to legally be able to sell their major franchise characters games, right?
Nintendo got all rights to all Donkey Kong Country games made by Rare and Microsoft got all rights to IP's not based on Nintendos IP's. Rare have said multiple times that Nintendo owns all the rights to Donkey Kong 64 and that they are surprised that the title is not a VC title. We don't know the reason why they pulled the games, only that it's unlikely that it's because of Rare. *hugs Snes cartridges*
