I found Other M new at Gamestop. I'll pick it up again next week. I refuse to buy it used.

^ I second this. I thought the gameplat was fine. It's like a 3D Super Metriod that we all wanted. Also like you said, the character development and storyline is very questionable.

Having played Fusion, I was excited to see how epic Adam's death would be.

Worst death scene ever. Made no sense. Was stupid. Game fail. Big time. Holy crap did I ever feel nothing. Wow. How could they screw something like that up.

The best thing ever made on why Other M is regarded with such disdain, and while it's extraordinarily long, it's very, very well written.

But all that being said, I don't really see any point in arguing with TC, since I don't think he was interested in making any true arguments regarding the game. Just seems like he was stating his opinion.

I will say, however, that I can understand why those who never liked other Metroid games would find Other M more approachable.
Kind of like how people loved Dragon Age 2 but hated Dragon Age: Origins.
