I would have to say platinum games. That way they (nintendo) would have 3 awesome subsidiary companies under there control. The others being retro studios and monolith soft. Having these 3 very talented companies churn out exclusives for their systems, along with their own legendary first party IPs would ensure that nintendo remained at the top.

Here are some rumors.

Actually I love all 3 of these companies. So I wouldn't care which one nintendo bought. :)

They should buy SEGA. Then they'd own Sonic and the entire furry audience.

Read the third link. Acquisition of Rare would include the IPs.

See, the problem that I have with this is that Nintendo didn't found Monolith, Sega, Platinum, or Rare, but they founded Retro Studios. If you're including them, than you may as well also include Intelligent Systems and HAL Laboratories in your list of "pillars".

Definitely missing their version of Donkey Kong....they could make a Diddy Kong racing 2 now, fix banjo, release another killer instinct. Rare would be great.

Ever since Rare left Nintendo they have become a shell of their former selves. MS didn't help things by denying the request to make KI3. I think Nintendo is gonna announce that they bought Sega at E3.

Platinum.

Sega would never survive making games for one console.
