This is a VERY hard decision. On one hand, the 3ds is selling like mad so nintendo can fall back on that, but on the other hand Sony has never been as big on handhelds and their consoles have always been their money makers |
DBPanterAPosted 2/14/2013 9:20:39 PM | Not hard. One company has money in the bank and no debt. One company has not posted a profitable year in 5 years (and generally posts losses of several billion US dollars).
Sony needs something to succeed, but have lost tens to hundreds of millions on the Vita. Their biggest threat isn't even in video games and the insanity people spew about the big 3 in consoles, but the fact that Apple and Samsung make very similar products to Sony, and currently do it better. That is what kills them.

I don't think the Vita is doing that badly for Sony even though it's selling like crap... Not good, but I don't think it's really doing them any bad... They're already doing quite badly, the Vita couldn't make their situation any worse.
Wii U is profiting after a single game sold per console, it's not that bad for Nintendo... it would just be much better if it started selling more, which will happen by the end of the year unless Sony and MS drop a major bombshell.

Uh, kid, the only Sony division that is doing well is the GAMING division. And Nintendo got a crapload of money so even if the Wii U fails, no biggie. Actually, SCE is NOT making money. Sony Pictures and Sony Music are, though. Also, to Luigi - the Vita is FAR from profitable. Nintendo has the money for a lot of failures, Sony doesn't. If the PS4 would do bad that might be the end of Sony in gaming as we know it. If Nintendo does bad for the next 7 consoles they'll still have the money to keep trying.
