Actually, Sony ripped off the Atari 2600. The 2600 has a few games that require one player to use two joystick controllers to play it.

Everything on the Vita (except for the awful arrow d-pad & rear touch pad) are actually Nintendo made first and foremost. The touch screen, analog stick, diamond layout, the L & R buttons, SELECT & START buttons, etc., were all once invented by Nintendo before Sony copy them.
